I’ll give the biggest high-level mistake we see that manifests itself into a lot of smaller ones – it’s strategic as opposed to a single conversation mistake. As an actual example, what often happens is that a sales manager is walking around the sales floor, and he hears John struggle with pricing objections. So the manager does training with John about pricing objections. It all seems pretty reasonable.

But statistically, that pricing objection might only come up on say 10 or 15% of calls, and in those calls, there are so many other variables at play, that the actual benefit of nailing a pricing objection might be limited.

That’s not nothing, but think about this, the introduction happens on 100% (less if its outbound but still) of calls, and it happens before other variables sneak into the conversation. So mathematically it has a much much higher impact rate. If you improve that across the team, you multiply the success rate times 1.0 instead of .15.
